Prime time camping season is upon us, so it’s time to get out there. We’ve got some great camping food ideas for you. In bulk, we have a dried black bean soup mix (add less water and it’s refried black beans), dried chili mix, dried refried pinto beans, dried curry soup mix, and dried split pea soup mix. They pack light, and only require boiling water to be poured over them.
If you are car camping (or weight isn’t an issue), our cannedMediterranean Organic dolmas are a shelf-stable, ready-to-eat snack/meal. Best ready-to-eat food in a can I’ve ever had.Tasty Bite also makes a number of Indian meals that come in shelf stable ration-like packs. They are hearty and cook fast.
Let’s talk about snacks. We have a great assortment of trail mixes, from our classic Almond Munch (almonds, raisins, and dark chocolate chips), to Wildtime’s more unique cashew curry trail mix made up of curry cashews, roasted almonds, walnuts, raisins, cranberries, apples, sunflower seeds, and pumpkin seeds. Chances are we have a trail mix right up your alley (or hiking trail).
Who doesn’t love waking up in the great doors with a nice hot beverage? I’ve got some great ideas for you that don’t take up much space, and don’t leave any waste behind. Need caffeine, we got you covered. We are carrying for the summer Mount Hagen Organic Freeze-Dried Coffee (the only organic one I know of). I tested it out today, and I have to say it’s pretty tasty. We also have a number of Sei Mee powdered green teas (sencha, and gemicha) that are packed full of antioxidants. If caffeine isn’t your thing, why not bring some Dandy Blend (It’s got a nice roasted nutty flavor). All of these only require a cup, spoon and boiling water.
