Product Profile: Hilary’s Eat Well Veggie Burgers
Posted June 19th, 2012
I honestly didn’t know what I would think when I bit into one ofHilary’s Eat Well veggie burgers. I haven’t had the best luck with veggie burgers; they are usually either dry, flavorless, or made entirely of beans. However, I had a good feeling about Hilary’s Eat Well, and maybe it was just because of the cute packaging, but I decided to give them a try.
There are two different kinds available, and I started with The World’s Best Veggie Burger. Noting that it had recognizable but not common burger ingredients, I decided to give it a go. It was fantastic. My boyfriend and I couldn’t stop gushing about how delicious it was. I have never eaten a burger so slowly so as to savor each amazing taste. We then tried the Adzuki Bean Burger, and, although it tasted a little different, it was just as good and I was sad as soon as I finished the last bite.
Hilary’s Eat Well is a company from Lawrence, Kansas, and originated at Hilary Brown’s restaurant called Local Burger. The first product was the World’s Best Veggie Burger, and I think it’s no wonder that it became popular.
The burgers come two to a package, and are packaged in a biodegradable film called EarthAware. The burgers are certified gluten-free, non-GMO, corn-free, yeast-free, soy- and nut-free, in addition to being completely vegan. The ingredients are recognizable and include whole grains such as millet and quinoa. The burgers are perfect on a gluten-free vegan bun with a bit of lettuce, vegan mayonaise and mustard. They are available for $3.49 each, and would go perfect at a summer barbeque.
