Dear ACG Owners,
If you are not running for the board this year, but are interested in volunteering with the board, please consider joining the Election Committee. This committee is charged with coordinating the 2011 elections, starting now through the evening of the Annual Meeting- until the ballots are counted and the results announced! We will have our first meeting at Fuel Cafe this Friday, February 4th at 10am, and will meet every-other Friday until the Annual Meeting, March 22nd. If you sign up for this committee you should be able to attend at least 2 meetings and participate in ballot counting the evening of March 22nd. Please email email hidden; JavaScript is required if you are interested or have questions about serving on the committee.
On the other hand, if you are considering running for the board, please review the Board Candidate Packet for information on the election process, expectations for board members, and important dates to put on your calendar now. Don’t forget that candidate declarations are due February 16th. Please contact board directors email hidden; JavaScript is required or email hidden; JavaScript is required if you have any questions about serving on the board or the election process. Contact the coop’s Owner Services Coordinator, email hidden; JavaScript is required, for more information on meeting the volunteer hour requirement, attending board/committee meetings, or with any questions about your membership status.
Thank you for your participation!

Serving as a board director provides an excellent way to guide the direction and vision of your coop and creates valuable opportunities to engage and interact with fellow owners.
If you have questions about serving on the board contact Stephen Upchurch, email hidden; JavaScript is required, or come to one of the next Owner Linkage Committee meetings (2nd Tuesday at 1pm and 3rd Thursday at 6:30pm of each month). If you haven’t attended a board meeting yet, I highly recommend making time to check out board governance in action next Tuesday, February 1st at 6pm in the Redeemer Church on NE 20th and Killingsworth.
You’ll also want to start drafting your candidate statement (due Feb 16th). Watch for next week’s enews for more information on the election process or email me at email hidden; JavaScript is required if you have questions.
To be eligible to serve on the board you must:
- Be an owner in good standing (ask at the register if you are not sure whether or not your payments are up to date).
- In the past 6 months have either: a) volunteered 5 hours (this includes working owner hours and/or committee meetings), or, b) attended at least one board meeting and one board committee meeting.
If you have questions about your eligibility contact Owner Services Coordinator, Melissa Nixon, at email hidden; JavaScript is required

Thanks for your interest. I look forward to seeing you at the next board meeting and hopefully welcoming you onto the board in a couple months!
Sincerely,
Kayla Gleason
