We are in need of some rad working owners this summer.  Whether you are interested in a regular in-store shift, office work, or just helping out at events and on special projects, we can tailor a working ownership for you.  As a working owner you will receive all kinds of neat benefits, including:

• Getting to know the staff and other working owners.
• Learning how the Co-op works behind the scenes.
• 15% off in-store purchases based on the number of hours you work.
• 20% off case and special orders.
• Becoming more involved with the Co-op you own.

Interested in learning more?  Fill out an Working Owner application, available at the front of the store or come to one of our upcoming Working Owner Orientations:  June 26th 3:30pm – 4:30pm and June 30th 11am – 12noon.

The 2010 Ownership Drive is On!

Join the Co-op this month and enjoy 15% off all purchases on our Owner Appreciation Day, June 26th. The benefits of becoming a Co-op owner are many.  Food co-ops are an important alternative to standard grocery stores.  By becoming an owner you contribute meaningful equity for support of local business and stronger communities.

Benefits of Ownership at ACG:

Support the Alberta Coop Mission: To serve as a community resource and gathering place, while providing fresh, high-quality, affordable food to the diverse members of North and Northeast Portland.  We emphasize products from local, organic, and socially responsible sources, and work to build connections between our customers and their farmers.

Democratic Control of Your Grocery Store! Member owners vote for our board of directors, run for the board of directors, and vote on bylaws changes.

Receive a Fair Share of the Coop’s Profits: Currently, all owners take 2% off all purchases, but beginning in 2010 owners will receive an annual refund from the co-op’s profits based on patronage.

Internships Open to Owners for Additional Discounts: Participate in the store for an insider’s look at operating a natural foods grocery. “Working Owners” contribute time and skills stocking shelves, serving on committees, and all around sprucing up the place!

Newsletter, Event Invitations, and Special Coupons…Owners can take advantage of extra savings and information available from our marketing department.

More Ways to Save Money! Show your ACG owner card at any of our Sister Organizations for discounts and special offers.  Save with extra discount off all case orders and special orders.
